I have been into training for the last 10 years so when I discovered I was pregnant I didn’t intend or want to stop. Obviously I knew I would need to tone down and adapt my programme but after reading and taking advice both from Richard and my doctor I knew that maintaining my fitness would be of benefit to me during pregnancy and labour. I accepted that I would put weight on and areas of my body (my bum for starters!) would increase but as long as it was within reason and part of a healthy pregnancy I could cope. The most important thing for me personally was that I stayed toned and keep my muscles firm.

Richard put together a programme for me using low impact cardio such as the cross-trainer and stepper along with exercises using low weights to focus on my glutes, arms and legs. I am now 7 months and have put on 18 pounds which for my 5”8 height is on track. Follow my progress as I get bigger (hopefully just my bump!) but also after the pregnancy when I am determined to get my bottom and abdominals back to their pre=pregnancy state!

Register today to follow Laura’s progress and watch more of her training programme as it unfolds.
